A Steaming Hot Job in Guildford

A recent job came my way from Reid Rose & Gregory, which took me to a shop I know well. The Steamer Trading cookshop in Guildford High Street is an Aladdin's Cave of goodies for anyone loving the kitchen. There is just about everything you'd ever need and perched on the top floor is the Guildford branch of Caracoli and at the rear an office building. The reason for the work is that the building is for sale; an investment it has to be said for someone with deep pockets. The freehold asking price is just over 6.7 million but that generates an income of £358,250. I have published the URL link to the agent's PDF brochure at the end of this post.My brief was to showcase the exterior and interior giving a flavour of the investment for interested parties.Anyone who knows Guildford will be familiar with the distinctive frontage of the building, situated in the High Street. It is a contemporary sampling sandwiched between older styles of architecture with the George Abbot Statue in front.I have a 25' telescopic pole for elevated photos, which was perfect to get better sense of the building's setting. For the investor though, having a good sense of what is going on inside will be important. Steamer Trading are staying put, as are Caracoli so seeing an established business aspect is important. The brief was to capture the interior space with a feeling of life. In the main I looked to blur people as they moved around the shop and not have a focus on individuals. Not forgetting the office building I was very kindly allowed access by one of the business tenants so as to illustrate the 'bit out the back'. The 25' pole came in handy again to give a bit of extra visual impact to the building exterior photo. So that made for an interesting commercial building shoot. Here's the URL link for the brochure whilst it's available, when this link breaks, get in touch with Reid Rose Gregory for information.www.rrg.co.uk/uploads/pdfs/GUILDFORD%20-%20168%20High%20Street%20%20Highpoint%20offices%20Investment.pdf
